JdC Postdoctoral position on neuro-skin microbiome

We are looking for a candidate to apply for Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral funding to work in the Cognitive and Affective Science Laboratory at Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona led by Dr. Lorena Chanes to develop a project in collaboration with the Translational Synthetic Biology group led by Dr. Marc Güell at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. We are seeking a dedicated, motivated, and talented full-time post-doctoral candidate to work mainly on a skin microbiota-mental health research line. The skin is populated by numerous microorganisms which affect host health and perform sophisticated molecular functionalities. We aim to develop the connections between some brain-related conditions and the skin microbiota composition. In this context, the successful candidate will participate in a multidisciplinary project with several institutions involved (beyond UAB and UPF, e.g., Hospital de Terrassa, S-Biomedic company or the IRB Center) within a vibrant community.

Requirements:
-PhD in Psychology, neuroscience or related biological sciences
-Proficiency in English and Spanish
-Experience in data analysis and advanced statistic skills
-Knowledge about genetics, molecular biology and/or skin/neuro microbiome
will be strongly valued
-Proactivity, good communication and organization skills
The successful candidate should have the ability to work both independently and as
a part of a team to meet deadlines.
